- Guglielmo Marconi and the Royal Italian Navy -

After the resolutive experimentations about wireless telegraphy in the gulf of La Spezia on July 1897 and the Oceanic campaigns aboard Carlo Alberto warship (1901-1902), G. Marconi was in strict contact with the Royal Italian Navy.

Under his gratuitous helps and patents, the new radio technicians founded in La Spezia at the military Arsenal the first Italian workshops for the radio constructions and the specific schools.

On the centre of this photo, you can see Guglielmo Marconi aboard a warship of Royal Italian Navy during the radio tests with tube transceivers (1914-1915).
